Fabulous selection of old Roman glass fragments from Afghanistan, found by Unesco in 2006 when they were putting down wells. The intact pieces went to museums, the broken bits were cleaned up by the locals, and made their way to Turkey, where I found these. Mixed with a gorgeous globe bead from Yemen, marked with the maker’s signature as silver, and two silver beads from Uzbekistan. At the back are two silver “travellers Beads” from the Tuaregs in Morocco. This is a LIGHT necklace, both in terms of colour and weight.
