Yemen silver (made of melted down silver coins and other metals) dowry necklace, with chains, corals, and sacred Hirz amulets which are said to be sealed with sacred texts that protect the bride through her life. This was in a disintegrating condition when I acquired it, so I restrung it on string, which, over time, will age. Better than having it fall apart in your hands. I used only the beads and silver that came with it, so apart from my new stringing, all is as it should be. I have also NEVER polished it, though it’s had a good wipe down from time to time. It will buff up very well, if you like a shiny look as there is a good silver content in it.
