This is really an OMG creation. Days in the making, shuffling visual balance. Years collecting. Decades treasuring.
Threaded on heavy duty waxed cotton, this collectible necklace is chock a block with charms … about 25 old, really old, early 1900’s, silver and niello pendants in various shapes and sizes from Southern Morocco. Expect some dings and dents, and a lot of natural patina. Polish it at your peril, it’ll come up a shiny treat but you’ll lose the sense of journeys this collection has done. Each piece made by hand, each piece representative of groups from the valleys to the mountains.
If all these charms aren’t enough to set your ethnic collector’s heart a flutter, there is also a lot of incredibly old and rare red coral beads…. impossible to date. They too show the effect of their journeys.???? Then there are the smaller silver spacer beads, also from Morocco. And, like tiny little surprises between the big boys beads, intricately made black coral beads wound with silver. Wait, I’m not finished yet, neither is this treasure chest. Right at the back are a couple of collectible Yemen silver Cornerless beads. They all hang together in perfect harmony, all those countries side by side. No noise.???? If only the world could be this agreeable!

As with all my creations, this is a unique, individual, one off that took me hours and hours to get just right. I collect all my components by scrabbling in souks and hessian bags and dusty shops for the most unique treasures my dealers can part with. Dings and dents are part of the story, and add to the charm. You will be the new custodian of a piece of wearable art, that has its own story. Imagine if these beads could speak.
