RBG Dissent Collar
Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a lot going against her, 50 years ago. She was a woman. She was Jewish. She was smart. And she was a mother. So nobody would employ her even though she was top of her class in Harvard. But she rose through all the difficulties to become a Supreme Court Judge in New York. She was determined to bring some felinity into the court roo, so she always wore a piece of jewellery that made a bold statement over her legal robes. In particular she liked to wear a “dissent collar” when she didn’t agree with the decisions. I’ve made Ruth my own version of her collar, in fresh water pearls and silver .
