Unusual silver pendant with star symbol front and rear, from Morocco, with chains and coral. Signed with a star on the rear as maker’s signature.  Though the star symbol is now known as Jewish, for a long time these also represented Muslim pieces, and are represented on coins.
Solid silver and mixed metal piece with multiple chains, wire worked coral and a range of different charms, each meaning something as far as health, family, dowry, is concerned.  Hand of Fatima, a crescent moon, bird, fish, sword, chicken.   It’s strung on a black cotton cord, with a recently made hams or Hand of Fatima for good luck, and a piece of resin to make the sliding toggle extend or shorten the cord.
Weight: 110gm
Size:  Adjustable on cord.  Size of pendant 7cms x 16cms
All these pieces have had journeys across deserts, and continents.  They have been used as dowry for weddings, have been traded in hard times and have had pieces added or removed depending on what happened at that time in the owner’s life.  So they all have dings, and dents, and bits rubbed off and bits added on.  They all add to the story, and to the authenticity of what you will own.
