The magnificent silver pendant is from Essaouria, Morocco – the flower of the West coast of Africa. The jingles on the pendant keep away bad spirits. The lapis and rock crystal beads were hand cut and spectacularly faceted about hundreds of years ago.
But what a combination coup! A marriage of true jewellery neighbours. Impossible to find rare ancient (possibly Sassanian – 250-600 ad) cornerless cubes lapis – and graduated, to boot!) from Afghanistan. With ancient Himalayan melon cut crystal, also from Afghanistan, circa 1st millennia. Plus two antique Tuareg silver beads/talismans – from Morocco. AND! A magnificent solid silver pendant from Himal Pradesh in India. Intact, beautiful condition, a true museum piece. Collectible.
