‘SHANDAN’ – A city on the old Silk Road

I’m a bit cheeky!  I copied this necklace (almost) from one sold at Christie’s about 20 years ago – theirs was gold, mine is brass from Baule in Ghana.  See the image of the copy in the gallery. These are fertility pendants, worn by women wanting to get pregnant.  I’ve used a circle of life brass lost wax method pendant in the middle, and like, the very old original, gorgeous Indian garnets.  Not  nearly the squillions that Christie’s got, but it could be yours ..
