Antique Fulani Agate Bib Necklace
This majestic bib necklace is made from truly ancient pieces of agate, possibly dug and carved a thousand years ago, but of course in the ground for so much longer, aeons and aeons. I wired every bead wired on a piece of heavy sterling silver; interspersed with smaller agate beads, and vulcanite spacers from Africa. The silver beads are Moroccan. There is a “lucky travelling” bead at each end – a protective amulet of sorts. Finished with signature S for Savanna, and a modern sterling silver toggle clasp. It’s a fabulously powerful piece to wear – not too heavy as the weight is concentrated in the front. I’ve had two lots of spinal surgery so if I can wear it, anyone can!
